Typhoon Yolanda Relief Operations

One of the strongest recorded typhoons hit the Philippines on November 8, 2013.

Typhoon Yolanda or Haiyan caused catastrophic destruction to most islands in Samar and Leyte. It also caused a great deal of damage to some parts of Cebu.

The aftermath was horrific. Many lives were lost. Many homes were destroyed. Many lost all hopes.

Amidst the lack of goods, EYE (Encouraging the Youth to Excel) extended whatever help they can give to some affected areas in Cebu Province. The group chose Bogo City. Generous individuals from Toledo City donated water, clothes, canned goods, and other food items. There were monetary contributors as well. Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (a shipbuilding company in Balamban) lent their jeepney for the relief operation.

It is in time of great calamities when human beings act and feel as human beings. We help because we need to preserve our own kind, but it must not be this way. It must be done and felt daily.
